Experienced and Effective Leadership
Jelani Killings is a well-respected public servant, having served on the Pittsburg City Council for the past eight years. He brings a wealth of experience, commitment, and consistency to the City Council. Jelani is a champion of government accountability, public safety, and economic development, and he envisions a brighter future for the community he loves. Councilmember Killings earned his BA in Business Administration from Clark Atlanta University and his MPA in Public Policy and Management from California State University East Bay.
During his first two-terms, Jelani Killings has demonstrated a steadfast commitment to his community and has proven himself as a leader who thinks critically and acts independently. His passion for serving the people and dedication to government accountability has earned him the trust and respect of his constituents as well as leaders throughout the region.
